Hello friends!
I am so excited to be heading out on the World Race this August! Here is a little glimpse into who I am, so that you can get to know me a little better!
I have lived in the state of Texas my whole life, mostly in a little Hill Country town outside of San Antonio called, Boerne (pronounced Bur-nee). After graduating from high school, I went on to attend college at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. After a few years, and a lot of great memories, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies and History. I then served for a semester at UMHB as a Campus Missionary with Texas Baptist Student Ministries, where I grew in sharing the Gospel with college students and equipping others to do the same. Most recently I have been working for a Christian student mentoring program in my hometown, where I get to minister to at-risk students in my community and train adult mentors to disciple them.
For many years now, I have felt called to student ministry. I have always connected well with students and have been volunteering in kids and youth ministry with my church for what seems like forever. I believe my connection with students is a sign of the Lord’s calling me to serve them, not just that I have the mind of a middle school boy still. You know I can play Fortnite with the best of them though! What is more, I heard the Lord clearly speak to me that he is calling me to lead students to the solid rock: an identity built on being loved, accepted, and forgiven by Him. That has been my mission for a while now, and it will continue to be as I explore what it looks like to love on students across different cultures and nations.
Just some fun things you should know about me, one, I love sports. If anything involves a ball or competition, I am in. I am particularly proud of my skills in more unusual sports like, ping pong, hacky sack, and disc golf. Also, I love music, cinema, literature, and really art of any kind. Kings Kaleidoscope, John Mark McMillan, Boston, Interstellar, Lord of the Rings, are some of my all time favorites. I love to play the guitar and I am experimenting in song writing, which I want to continue to grow in and use in worship. Lastly, I am an only child, but I have some awesome parents, who I love to spend time with and adventure with. They have been a huge part of showing me what it looks like to be a man after God’s heart.
After that concise summation of my life, I hope you feel like we are best friends now. Thank you so much for partnering with me in this journey around the world in obedience to God’s call and in pursuit of His presence. I know He has great things in store!
