Back in February and March I had the chance to serve with Hope Church and Pastor Raul Costea in Craiova, Romania. While there, I supported their efforts to care for Ukrainians displaced from their homes by the war with Russia. The Hope Church team worked tirelessly to provide housing, transportation, food, and Spiritual care for the Ukrainian families.

Sadly, the conflict between Ukraine and Russia is still raging. Many families are still evacuating Ukraine and many more remain trapped in dangerous areas within the country without access to essential supplies. 

Hope Church continues to be the hands and feet of Jesus in response to the ongoing crisis. As recently as five days ago they sent a convoy of seven vans to deliver essential supplies to the Ukrainian border, where they proceeded to pick up a group of refugees, who they will help transport to Germany.

So, how can you help?

When I set out on the World Race in August, I shaved my face clean with the goal of not shaving again until I returned home. Why? Well... I honestly just thought it would be fun to give it a try. However, as I am now a few days from returning back to the States, I thought I might be able to use my mountain man beard to raise money for Ukrainians that are in desperate need of help right now.

Therefore, this Friday I am hosting a "beard auction" among my squad that I have traveled with for the past 11 months. The highest bidder will be able to shave my beard in whatever way they think will cause me the most embarrassment as I have to keep it that way for the next 24 hours. Since we want to raise as much money as possible for Hope Church's ministry, every bid that is placed will go directly to support that cause. (Rather than only the final bid being donated).

Since you cannot be there in person as we do the auction, would you consider matching the final amount raised? Or would you consider donating whatever amount the Lord leads you to directly to Hope Church?
